FIRE SAFETY
This Fire Safety eLearning was developed with the support of internal and external SMEs. The project was developed for on-site personnel in multi-family home construction. The following walks through the process from initial conversations to gather requirements to implementation in the LMS.
Fire Prevention and Protection Program for Multi-Family Housing Construction
Utilizing an agile workflow, a four-module eLearning course was developed. Each module went through an iterative process of creation and review before implementation. The course utilized video screencaptures to demonstrate how to complete certain tasks, user interactions that allowed for practice, and knowledge checks to validate learning.

Gather Requirements
As the company has construction sites across various states, it was important that the training was relevant, accurate, and timely across worksites. To
accomplish this, the company partnered
with outside experts who worked
with SMEs and me to ensure
the training was inclusive
and clear.

Design and Storyboard
Working with content written by external SMEs, internal documentation, and kick-off meeting conversations, created a storyboard that included images, navigation, and audio script. Some images were from active construction sites, some were sourced from Getty, and others were generated with AI (Copilot).

Review and Update
The storyboard was sent to internal and external SMEs and to other instructional designers for review. This review helped ensure that the content was accurate, the format was conducive to learning, and the objectives were met. Changes were made based on feedback.

Development
Development was done with Adobe Captivate with video assets edited with Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition. Non-video narration was created with WellSaid.

Review and Update
Content was exported as a SCORM package and uploaded to the LMS for review. This allowed SMEs
and IDs to review content, functionality, and
design in the same manner that learners
will view the learning. LMS settings
allowed only specified
individuals to access.

Implement
Changes and updates were made based on feedback from the review process. Once SMEs and leadership signed off on the final project, it was uploaded to the LMS and assigned to the appropriate groups.

Track and Evaluate
Weekly reports were created to track completion and scores. Managers are notified if they have any associates out of compliance. ServiceNow is used to log and track learner issues.
